Hubblecast 114: How does Hubble orientate itself in space?
19 December 2018
To obtain crystal clear images of distant galaxies and faint nebulae, Hubble relies on sophisticated hardware to keep its gaze locked onto its target. Hubble’s precise Fine Guidance Sensors, massive Reaction Wheels and state-of-the-art gyroscopes work together to make sure Hubble’s exquisite eye always points at its remote targets with the utmost accuracy.
